Sifu: (n.) pronounced See-foo.

I dedicate my business and life's work to Sifu Weber, my animal companion-Newfie mix.  The meaning of Sifu is Accomplished Teacher of the Arts.  I gave this name to my Newfie companion whom I rescued, and in the end, rescued me.  Not to mention, I had to constantly express while driving, "I can't See-Foo!", because his big head blocked the passenger window.

In the beginning of my business in the animal healing arts, it seemed destined that Sifu and I would cross paths at this time in our lives.

Champ, Sifu's original name, was given to him by the veterinarian who rescued him off the streets of Northern CA.  Champ was given a year probation by Animal Control, and was ordered aggression rehab (especially towards uniformed individuals) and to heal from his wounds or be euthanized. These wounds included the degloving of his right wrist and 3 metacarpals crushed.  (We avoided amputation and the arthritis receded 80% with TCM, traditional chinese medicine).  Other procedures included the surgical removal of a prong collar embedded in his neck, eye debris removal, and his eye lids restructured.

The 3 years he was a known feral dog, the Animal Control had never known him to be aggressive.  It wasn't until the uniformed animal control unit pinned him in a garage with their vehicle, did he become violent.  After he was deemed too dangerous and scheduled to be euthanized, the veterinarian, who performed the medical procedures, purchased "Champ" from Animal Control to prevent his death, as he saw something in his eyes. This vet happened to be the same vet for the kennel where I worked. Eventually Champ was released in my care as long as I met the requirements of the Animal Control and the veterinarian. Fulfilling this and more, Champ became Sifu.

If you had the chance to meet Sifu, you would understand why he was loved by so many animals and humans.  During our relationship, he became balanced, confident and was a pleasure to work alongside.  His Chi helped so many animals.

Through the power of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Five Element Theory, Acupressure and Massage Therapy, Natural and Intuitive Healing,  Sifu was able to build the confidence he needed to overcome his injuries and aggression towards living things. Sifu lived a long and healthy life. He become a big love bug, friend, teacher and family member.  And then, in turn, Sifu helped me understand my abilities and gave me confidence to trust my intuition.

As a former Martial Arts Instructor, and currently an Animal Acupressure-Massage Therapist, Animal Trainer, Natural Habitat Builder, and Exotic Pet Enthusiast, nothing can be too short of accomplishing a healthy and natural lifestyle for you and your animals.

In loving memory of Sifu Weber
